We are learning how to diagram indirect objects in English class.  It is a lot of fun! Each day this week we can buy valentines for a friend during the lunch time to be handed out each afternoon.

The 5th grade class hosts the Mass on Friday, and we got our parts today for practice.

In science we experimented with colors and light.  We took different colored plastic paddles and combined them in different ways to see what colors we could make.  We will read and learn more about light and color tomorrow.

On Friday the 5th and 6th graders may exchange Valentine cards with their classmates.

Today the whole school went on a field trip to Skate Land.  I thought it was so much fun.  They played many awesome songs.  When we came back, we ate lunch and had fun in our two classes.  Keep warm in this cold weather and have a great three day weekend!

You will find a link on this blog (lower right corner) to a video clip that was shown in science class to explain light- reflection and refraction.  There is a video clip for our 5th and 6th graders to watch along with a short test for them to try.  The test is just for fun, but may be a nice way to see if these terms are understood.  The students have been asked to try it.

Also for roller skating tomorrow, students may wear the original "Retro" dress or they may wear spirit wear to celebrate Catholic Schools' Week!

Finally, forensics information went home today, and students will need to decide if they would like to participate ASAP.  Please have the forms returned to Mrs. Nichol no later than Wednesday, February 5th.   (Activity pictures are next Friday)

We are finally back after 2 days off for cold weather.  Today we had our movie day with popcorn. Thanks to Charlie for bringing in the popcorn and thanks to Hunter for the Twizzlers.  We watched Despicable Me 2 (thanks to Dominick for bringing in the movie!)

Report cards went home today.  Teachers will be meeting after school to coordinate the conferences. I will send out a note soon with times.

Tomorrow we will have  a regular morning schedule with Hoops for Heart in the afternoon.  Be sure to send your envelope with pledges to school.
